On August 28th, the official account of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association released the report titled “Economic Operation of China’s Electrical Equipment Industry: Small and Medium-sized Motor Industry (2023)”. The data showed that Anhui Wannan Motor Co., Ltd. ranks firmly at the forefront of the small and medium-sized motor industry, ranking fifth in the comprehensive index of enterprise economic benefits and second in the production of small AC motors. In the rankings of enterprises with motor sales revenue exceeding 1 billion yuan and motor sales volume exceeding 6 million kilowatts in 2023, the company secured fourth place in both categories.
In 2023, Wannan Electric closely monitored market, industry, and national policy trends. To adapt to new market changes, the company effectively adjusted its product mix and continued to overcome technical challenges in motor product research and development. It completed the research and development of the YFB5 series of high-efficiency motors, TYBCP series of explosion-proof permanent magnet synchronous motors, YHS series of asynchronous servo motors, synchronous reluctance motors, lawn mower motors, etc. There were approximately 18,000 non-standard motors, and the total number of complete machine codes and BOM items exceeded 50,000. In 2023, 32 process improvements were completed, and more than 10 new equipment and processes were introduced. The YFB4 dust explosion-proof series motors and YES3 series motors obtained provincial-level new product certification, and the YBX4 series high-efficiency explosion-proof three-phase asynchronous motors were selected as “2023 Anhui Industrial Excellent Products”.
Based on the aggregated data received from 61 motor manufacturing enterprises, the Small and Medium-sized Motor Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association analyzed the economic operation of the small and medium-sized motor industry in 2023: In 2023, the industry’s production and sales increased slightly year-on-year, with the growth rate narrowing; the total industry profits increased year-on-year, with a significant increase in the first quarter, gradually narrowing from the first half to the first three quarters, and a slight increase in the annual growth rate compared to the first three quarters; export production, sales, and revenue all decreased year-on-year; the average purchasing unit price of some major raw materials remained high; ending inventory was flat year-on-year, and accounts receivable decreased slightly; driven by some enterprises, the industry’s average comprehensive economic benefit index increased significantly year-on-year, but 70.5% of enterprises’ comprehensive economic benefit index growth was below the average, indicating significant differentiation in the development of industry enterprises, with some enterprises facing increased operational pressure. There were 18 enterprises with total profits exceeding 60 million yuan, an increase of 4 from the previous year, with a total profit of 4.08 billion yuan; 10 enterprises with production exceeding 6 million kilowatts, unchanged from the previous year, with a total production of 192.503 million kilowatts, accounting for 70.0% of the total; 12 enterprises with motor sales revenue exceeding 1 billion yuan, an increase of 1 from the previous year, with a total motor sales revenue of 49.09 billion yuan, accounting for 76.1% of the total motor sales revenue. There were 12 profitable enterprises with simultaneous growth in six indicators: industrial added value, sales revenue, total payment collection, total profits, per capita income, and owner’s equity, a decrease of 4 from the previous year. In 2023, the total production reached 274.86 million kilowatts, an increase of 2.9% year-on-year. The production of small AC motors was 173.36 million kilowatts, an increase of 1.2% year-on-year, including 9.06 million kilowatts of permanent magnet motors, an increase of 18.0% year-on-year. The production of large and medium-sized AC motors was 73.29 million kilowatts, an increase of 3.4% year-on-year, including 57.272 million kilowatts of high-voltage motors, an increase of 5.5% year-on-year. The production of general AC generators was 22.344 million kilowatts, an increase of 10.5% year-on-year. The production of DC motors was 5.865 million kilowatts, an increase of 22.3% year-on-year. Among the 61 enterprises, 35 increased production, accounting for 57.4%, with 7 enterprises showing a growth rate of over 20%; 24 decreased production, accounting for 39.3%, with 9 enterprises showing a decline rate of over 20%.
Regarding the sales situation of the small and medium-sized motor industry in 2023, the Small and Medium-sized Motor Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association summarized that the industry achieved a total sales revenue of 79.07 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.6%. Specifically, the sales revenue of electric motors amounted to 64.51 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year growth of 3.2%. Within this revenue, the sales revenue of permanent magnet motors stood at 3.55 billion yuan, also experiencing a year-on-year increase of 3.2%, while the sales revenue of generators reached 1.97 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year decrease of 20.5%. Among the 61 enterprises surveyed, 32 saw an increase in sales revenue, accounting for 52.5%, with 6 enterprises experiencing a sales revenue growth rate exceeding 20%; conversely, 29 enterprises witnessed a decrease in sales revenue, making up 47.5%, among which 4 enterprises experienced a decline rate exceeding 20%. Specifically, 33 enterprises saw an increase in sales revenue from electric motors, representing 54.1%, with 9 enterprises experiencing a growth rate exceeding 20% in electric motor sales revenue; on the other hand, 26 enterprises reported a decrease in electric motor sales revenue, accounting for 42.6%, among which 3 enterprises saw a decline rate exceeding 20% in electric motor sales revenue. Additionally, 16 enterprises reported an increase in permanent magnet motor sales revenue, representing 88.9% of the 18 permanent magnet motor manufacturing enterprises; conversely, 6 enterprises experienced a decrease in generator sales revenue, constituting 66.7% of the 9 generator manufacturing enterprises. In 2023, there were 12 enterprises with electric motor sales revenue exceeding 1 billion yuan. The sales volume reached 270.275 million kilowatts in 2023, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.1%. Specifically, the sales volume of electric motors was 252.288 million kilowatts, increasing by 6.0% year-on-year, while the sales volume of generators was 15.915 million kilowatts, marking a year-on-year growth of 5.0%.
